When you're the first completely programmable analog polysynth, you tend to attract a crowd, and for good reason: the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Rev 3 added distinct changes to the company's flagship that made it distinct from its predecessors and a beast all its own. The Prophet-5 is an analog synthesizer manufactured by Sequential Circuits between 1978 and 1984. It was designed by Dave Smith and John Bowen. The Prophet-5 was the first fully programmable polyphonic synthesizer and the first musical instrument with an embedded microprocessor. About 6,000 units were produced across three revisions.

Here for the gear
Hi all, My prophet 5 has some issues
A few months back I was tempted to re-cap the synth, but was advised not to by wine country. I'm starting to think I possibly should have.. Recently my Rev 3.3 has had the following problems and exhibited these symptoms - System locks up some lights come on nothing can be changed - All patches lost, even after doing a battery change recently - Sometimes when you switch it on after the tune phase, all the lights stay on and flicker very fast, not like they usually do when playing or when being triggered by midi Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Other than the above everything else functions and sounds fine. I'm starting to think it's a bad speccy chip (os) or could a rogue midi signal cause it. One other thing I thought I should mention is it's a US market synth originally and I'm using the synth with a 'proper audio equipment' step down convertor, that is also being shared with a cs-60.
